About me

I'm a business engineer in Management Information Systems who helps organisations use IT to support their strategy and realise business value. As an IT consultant at AE, I work as a business and functional analyst in agile teams. In parallel, I'm pursuing a PhD at the University of Antwerp on IT governance and digital resilience: how organisations can use IT not just to adapt to, but to thrive in a digital world.

People describe me as a pragmatic, results-driven problem solver with a critical yet constructive mindset. Solving complex challenges while keeping an eye on delivering value today is what energises me most. I thrive in collaborative teams and believe that mutual understanding is the key to aligning stakeholders and building consensus.

    2. PhD Researcher

      January 2024 – Present

Doctoral research on IT governance, adaptability and digital resilience, in collaboration with the University of Antwerp.

      More details

This research project determines how organisations can become digitally resilient. First, continuous investment in IT increases an organisation's dependency on IT, shifting traditional business risks towards IT. Second, resilience is about long-term survival and competitiveness, which calls for further investment and exploration. Third, the external threat landscape keeps evolving, which requires a shift from risk management to resilience.

      Literature review

A literature review of organisational digital resilience mapped the current body of knowledge, identified research gaps and set out a research agenda, together with the capabilities and perspectives needed for digital resilience.

      Bibliometric analysis

A quantitative literature analysis uncovered themes and trends in the field, confirming that the domain is scattered and that scholars focus mainly on technical rather than organisational aspects.

      Quantitative analysis

Several rounds of an international survey, in collaboration with Antwerp Management School and ISACA, showed how the maturity of IT governance and IT management capabilities changed after the 2020 pandemic.

      Conceptual theory development

Building on systems theory and complementary perspectives (resource-based view, organisational ambidexterity, dynamic capabilities, …), the necessary and sufficient high-level organisational characteristics for digital resilience were defined.

      Case studies

The conceptual theory is now used to analyse companies, as a diagnostic tool to understand why some organisations might not be digitally resilient.

      • Conducted a literature review on organisational digital resilience and set out a research agenda.
      • Analysed several rounds of an international survey with Antwerp Management School and ISACA on how IT governance and IT management capabilities matured after the 2020 pandemic.
      • Developed a conceptual theory, grounded in systems theory, of the organisational characteristics needed for digital resilience.
      • Mapped themes and trends in the field with a bibliometric analysis.
      • Applies the theory in company case studies as a diagnostic tool for digital resilience.
